Billing & Insurance

Helping you understand your costs with confidence.

We want your experience to be clear and stress-free—from checking in at the front desk to understanding your statement or insurance benefits.

How billing works at our office.

Our billing team works closely with you and your insurance company to make sure claims are filed correctly and your portion is clear.

  • Insurance is verified when your appointment is scheduled or when you arrive.
  • Co-pays are collected at check-in, as required by your plan.
  • Claims are submitted to your insurance company after your visit.
  • You’ll receive a statement for any remaining balance after insurance processes the claim.

If you ever have questions about a statement or a charge, please call our office—our staff is happy to walk through it with you.

Insurance plans we accept.

We participate with many major insurance plans. Coverage can vary based on your individual policy and benefits.

  • Most major commercial PPO and HMO plans
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama
  • Medicare (gynecologic services)
  • Select Medicare Advantage plans
  • Self-pay options for patients without insurance

Because plan participation can change, we recommend calling your insurance company or our office before your visit to confirm coverage.

Co-pays & remaining balances

  • Co-pays are due at the time of service, as required by your insurance plan.
  • Deductibles and co-insurance may apply based on your benefits.
  • Any remaining balance after insurance processes your claim will be billed to you.
  • We accept major credit cards, debit cards, checks, and cash.

Referrals & authorizations

  • Some HMO plans require a written referral from your primary care physician.
  • Certain procedures may also need prior authorization from your insurance.
  • Please contact your plan in advance to confirm these requirements.
  • If a referral is needed but not obtained, your visit may be billed as self-pay.

Billing statements & questions

  • You will receive a statement for any balance after insurance has processed your claim.
  • Statements clearly show what was billed, what insurance paid, and what you owe.
  • If something doesn’t look right, please call us—we can review it together.
  • Our goal is to make your financial responsibility as clear and manageable as possible.
